Our Commitment to Refugees
At River Of Life Assemblies Int’l, we recognize the unique challenges faced by refugee families as they build new lives and integrate into new communities. Our Immigration Committee's Refugee Family Mentoring program is designed to provide comprehensive support and resources to alleviate these challenges.
Comprehensive Mentoring Program
Our comprehensive mentoring program aims to empower and uplift refugee families, helping them overcome barriers, achieve independence, and integrate into their new communities. The program consists of the following key elements:
1. Initial Needs Assessment
Upon joining our program, each refugee family undergoes an initial needs assessment. This assessment helps us identify their specific needs, strengths, and opportunities for growth. With this information, we tailor our mentoring approach to ensure maximum impact and support.
2. Holistic Support
We understand that successful integration requires holistic support. Our mentors provide guidance and assistance in various aspects, including:
- Language Acquisition: We offer language classes and programs to help refugee families learn the local language fluently, which enhances communication and interaction within their new communities.
- Job Placement: We collaboratively work with local employers to help refugee adults secure sustainable employment opportunities that align with their skills and aspirations.
- Educational Support: We ensure that school-aged refugee children receive the necessary academic support, including tutoring and mentorship, to help them thrive in their education.
- Healthcare Access: Our mentors assist refugee families in navigating the healthcare system, connecting them with appropriate resources and ensuring their access to quality healthcare services.
- Legal Guidance: We provide legal guidance and support to help refugee families understand their rights, navigate immigration processes, and access available resources.
3. Cultural Orientation
